The Convictions
What We Believe
Scripture
We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, wholly true and trustworthy in all they affirm, and the final authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living. Scripture stands above human tradition, cultural opinion, personal experience, and human reasoning. Where these conflict with God’s Word, Scripture governs.
God
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, sovereign, righteous, loving, just, merciful, all-knowing, all-powerful, and worthy of all worship, obedience, and glory.
Creation
We believe God created the heavens and the earth by His Word in a literal creation week: six ordinary days of creation followed by the seventh day of rest, as recorded in Genesis. Humanity was uniquely created by God in His image, male and female, and did not arise apart from His purposeful creative act.
Humanity, Marriage, and Sexuality
We believe every human being bears the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity and value. God created humanity male and female. Biological sex is part of God’s created order and is not ultimately determined by personal desire or self-identification. We believe biblical marriage was established by God as the covenant union of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy is reserved by God for that marriage covenant. Sexual activity outside biblical marriage is contrary to God’s design. These convictions do not remove the Christian obligation to treat every person with compassion, dignity, patience, and love. Biblical love does not require calling good what Scripture calls sin.
Sin
We believe humanity is fallen and sinful and cannot reconcile itself to God through morality, religious activity, good works, self-improvement, or human effort. Sin is not merely brokenness or an unfortunate circumstance; it is rebellion against a holy God and requires forgiveness and redemption.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, willingly died on the Cross as the substitutionary sacrifice for sinners, shed His blood for our redemption, was bodily raised from the dead, ascended to the Father, and will personally return. Jesus Christ is not merely a teacher, example, companion, or source of inspiration. He is Lord, Savior, King, Redeemer, and the only way of reconciliation with God.
Salvation
We believe salvation is entirely by the grace of God, received through faith in Jesus Christ and not earned by human works. Christ accomplished redemption at Calvary. The biblical response to the Gospel includes repentance from sin and faith in Christ. Genuine saving faith results in a changed life: not sinless perfection, but an ongoing life of repentance, obedience, and transformation. Grace does not excuse sin. Grace forgives, teaches, transforms, and leads the believer toward holiness.
The Holy Spirit and Sanctification
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells believers, gives spiritual life, produces spiritual fruit, illuminates Scripture, convicts of sin, equips the Church, and empowers believers for obedience and faithful Christian living. Sanctification is God’s work in His people, producing and empowering their obedient response as they grow in Christ through Scripture, prayer, fellowship, worship, service, and dependence upon Him.
The Church and Christian Life
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, composed of those redeemed through faith in Jesus Christ. Believers are called to gather, worship, pray, study God’s Word, encourage one another, bear one another’s burdens, serve, pursue holiness, make disciples, proclaim the Gospel, and live as faithful witnesses in the world. The Christian life is not primarily about comfort, prosperity, self-fulfillment, or positive thinking. Believers are called to deny themselves, take up their cross, follow Christ, endure faithfully, and live for the glory of God.
Eternity
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the future return of Jesus Christ, final judgment, the eternal life of the redeemed with God, and eternal punishment for those who remain outside Christ. Our ultimate hope is not improved earthly circumstances but the completed redemption Christ has promised.
Witness and Participation
How the Foundation Is Applied
Repentance, Grace, and Public Christian Witness
Redeemed Country does not require sinlessness from its artists. Every believer remains dependent upon grace and will continue to need repentance. The distinction is not between sinners and sinless people. It is between repentance and affirmation. An artist may struggle, stumble, confess, repent, and continue pursuing Christ. But publicly teaching, celebrating, or persistently affirming as good what this Doctrinal Foundation identifies as contrary to Scripture is incompatible with officially representing Redeemed Country.
Christian Unity and Secondary Matters
Redeemed Country does not claim to resolve every doctrinal disagreement among faithful Protestant Christians. Believers may disagree charitably regarding secondary matters while remaining united around the Gospel and the essential convictions stated above.
Official Affiliation and Levels of Participation
Official Redeemed Country affiliation requires the artist, not merely an individual song, to affirm every main conviction stated in this Doctrinal Foundation. Faithful Christians may differ on secondary matters this Foundation does not address.
Because featuring a song also points listeners toward the artist, each level of participation carries its own standard:
| Level | Standard |
| Playlist inclusion | The song passes the Redeemed Country song guardrails, and there is no known material contradiction between the artist’s public doctrine or witness and this Doctrinal Foundation. |
| Redeemed Country feature / spotlight | Stronger due diligence. There should be reasonable confidence that the artist’s catalog and public witness are consistent with every main conviction of this Foundation. |
| Official “A Redeemed Country Artist” designation / emblem | The artist explicitly affirms the Doctrinal Foundation and the Redeemed Country Standard, and agrees that their catalog and public witness will remain consistent with them. |
A material contradiction is one that conflicts with a main conviction stated in this Foundation. Differences on secondary matters it does not address are not material.
